Itinerary

Meetings and greetings!

Before leaving, the first thing is to get to know our team, there you will have the opportunity to introduce yourself, and tell us a little more about yourself, and our guide will present you with a complete itinerary, when we start the trip, our goal is to prepare and inform you as well with what we will meet during the day, this is a unique opportunity to get to know our country, the cultural and historical diversity of these areas.

Attention is also drawn to all passengers on this tour that they should be free to ask various questions to our guides without any hesitation, even if they are of a private nature, our mission is to leave this deeply etched in your memory and familiarity with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Konjic

During the departure through the interesting neighborhoods of Sarajevo, we start the road towards Herzegovina and drive south and after the mountain “Ivan” and the famous tunnel we officially enter the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, which means that we have entered Herzegovina, our first stop is the town of Konjic and pearly clean Neretva river, the first thing we notice is that we are driving downhill, and the reason for this is that Sarajevo is at a very high altitude, and we are slowly descending towards Konjic and the other Herzegovinian cities that we will visit.

Our first stop is the beautiful town of Konjic, and we will immediately head towards the first attraction on this tour, which is the old Ottoman bridge, which is a beautiful architectural building from the 17th century, our guide will try his best to tell you the story of the turbulent history of this bridge, in addition to the bridge, today Konjic is known for the famous Tito’s atomic bunker, which was built during the Cold War when the whole world feared the conflict between the two blocs of East and West, you will also hear the story of the “monument of human stupidity” and today Konjic is also known for “Igman ” a dedicated industry factory where ammunition for firearms is made and is one of the largest in the region, in addition to all the attractions near Konjic, there is also the beautiful Boračko lake, and only after visiting that town, you will understand why Konjic is ideal for rafting.

Pass by: Jablaničko Lake.

After we finish visiting Konjic and the old Ottoman bridge, we move on to our next stop, which is the beautiful town of Jablanica, on the way to Jablanica, on the right side you will see the enchanting Jablanica lake, which is not natural but artificial and is the result of the construction of a hydroelectric power plant which we will soon see on our trip to Mostar, today Jablanicko Lake is a popular tourist destination for local and foreign tourists.

Jablanica

After we finish our visit to the Konjic and pass by Jablaničko Lake, after driving for about 40 minutes, our next stop is the beautiful city of Jablanica. What’s important to mention is that this city is one of the most important historical cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially during the World War II period, because one of the biggest battles was fought between Partizans headed by Josip Broz Tito and German Nacistic troops in these areas.

When we enter the city of Jablanica we headed to the museum  „Battle on Neretva“ or „Battle for wounded“, and the main attraction will be broken bridge, where our guide gives his best to tell you an interesting story about a great battle and city of Jablanica itself which besides that have a lot to offer.

After we arrive at the location, the first thing that we will see is a pair of howitzers on the plateau and a train from the period of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy that built it. During the period of Yugoslavia and communism, the government at that time made a very popular film where they tried to show how big the battle was, and as the most interesting thing, you will hear the story of our guide who will explain how the bridge was destroyed and what’s the exact reason for that.

Also today, Jablanica is known as a town of lambs, and during the entering the city and exiting we will see dozens of restaurants with roasted lambs, they are very popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, traditionally, travelers stop for a break, as we will do the same and take the opportunity to stop for 10 minutes to freshen up and stretch our legs, and if any of the passengers want to, our guide can take you to the restaurant’s employees to show you how that specialty is prepared. The important thing is that we always check with our passengers if we happen to have vegetarians so that they wouldn’t be put in an unpleasant situation. Also in the restaurant itself, if you have not tried it before, you will have the chance to taste traditional Bosnian coffee.

After a short break, we start our journey south to the city of Mostar and other enchanting locations that we will visit during the day.

Pass By: Neretva River Canyon.

After the town of Jablanica, we head towards the south of Herzegovina and after a few minutes of driving we enter one of the most beautiful canyons in this part of Europe, which is the Neretva River Canyon, and we will use the opportunity to stop very briefly to take one of the most beautiful photos from this tour and which will remain in your very fond memory.

Mostar

After Jablanica and driving through the Neretva River Canyon, our next stop is the jewel of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the main attraction on this tour, the Mostar, we arrive in Mostar after a 50-minute drive, we enter the city from the north, constantly following the enchanting Neretva river, our goal is the old town and the biggest attraction in this part of Europe, which is the widely known Old Bridge.

We will stay in Mostar for at least an hour, our goal is to get to know Mostar and its inner core as best as possible, our first task is to tour the old town and of course the main attraction Old Bridge, our guides will explain in detail what Mostar means to us, who are the people of Mostar, and you will have the opportunity to hear interesting stories about the city itself and, in addition, to hear the story of why Mostar was the most devastated city in the last war, why the Old Bridge was demolished and when, and its cultural, historical and religious diversity.

After the tour of Old Bridge as always our guests will get free time to explore every corner of the Old Town of Mostar for themselves; to take a walk through the beautiful bazaar, visit Mosques from the 16th century, or sit in one of the many restaurants next to the Old Bridge and enjoy the pearl-clear Neretva river.

After enjoying the beautiful Mostar we continue our tour towards Dubrovnik, but before Dubrovnik, we still have a lot to see and our next stop will be Blagaj – Buna and the source of the Buna river and besides that, a visit to Teqiah Blagaj or Hous of Dervishes.

Blagaj - The source of the river Buna and Teqiah House of Dervishes

After the visit to Mostar, we are heading to Blagaj, and after a very short drive, we will arrive at the wanted location. After all, we want to emphasize that this is the one of most beautiful locations where you will simply be speechless, and you will be enchanted with this gem near Mostar.

At the very entrance to Blagaj, we head towards the source of the Buna river, where we will be greeted by a very high cliff from which the beautiful Buna river flows out of the cave at the very foot of it, which is literally so clean that you will see a large number of people drinking from their hands and refreshing themselves.

First, we will go to the spring itself next to the cave, and during the summer period, we also organize a small boat tour to visit the cave and hear interesting facts from a local guide.

After the boat tour, we head to the Teqiah and Dervish House, which is unique in this region and is visited by thousands of travelers and pilgrims, and you will have the opportunity to hear the story of the Dervishes, their mysticism, and the sacramental meaning of that location.

Also today, the Teqiah is a place where besides tourists, faithful Muslims come to pray 5 times a day.

After visiting the Teqiah and Dervish House we go for a well-deserved lunch next to Buna’s waterfall. You will have the opportunity to try various traditional dishes from Bosnian cuisine and of course, the main specialty is trout from the crystal clear Buna river. And of course, we don’t forget our vegetarians who are with us, and we certainly have a lot to offer them as well.

Note that lunch is not included in the price of the tour, so please plan an additional 6 to 10 euros for meals and drinks.

After lunch and a break, we continue towards Dubrovnik, but that’s not all, our next stop on this tour is the medieval town of Počitelj.

Počitelj

After lunch and a well-deserved break, we move on. Our next location is the medieval town of Počitelj (rest-sleep), (rest in peace) next to the river Neretva, at an elevation above the main highway, the historic city of Počitelj is located. A unique cultural and historical place as a witness to the turbulent history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and by visiting Počitelj you will understand the cultural and historical diversity of our country, you will see for yourself and clearly distinguish the architecture of medieval Bosnia and the Ottoman Empire that conquered this city.

After entering the town of Počitelj, we head to the very top and we will enjoy the beautiful view of the Neretva River Canyon, and in addition, our guide will tell you a very interesting story about this gem, which, like many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, had a very stormy past.

Also from the viewpoint, you will clearly see the biggest attractions such as the Hadzi Alija’s Mosque, Gavrankapetanović Tower, as well as the clock tower which looks enchanting and has retained its original appearance after restoration, a visit to the Počitelj is a kind of time pole where you will have the opportunity to go back 600 years.

After visiting the viewpoint, if our passengers want to take free time and go down the very long stairs and take a walk to the very bottom of Počitelj, it is possible, and our guide and our driver will be waiting for them.

Kravice Waterfall near the city of Ljubuško

After visiting Počitelje, and a 25-minute drive we go to the last location before Dubrovnik, namely the Bosnian Niagara or the Kravice Waterfall, this is the icing on the cake and the highlight of our trip.

Located on the river Trebižat near the town of Ljubuški, there is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe and a place that thousands of people visit every day, 26 to 28 meters high with beautiful waterfalls, this waterfall is one of the most beautiful geological monuments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will surely leave you breathless.

During the summer period and on hot sunny days, feel free to bring your swimsuit and use the Trebižat river and waterfall for swimming and sunbathing.

The Kravice waterfall is the last stop on our beautiful tour, and after that, we head directly towards Dubrovnik full of impressions because you finally understood, this was really worth it.

The journey from Kravica Waterfall to Dubrovnik takes about 2 hours and the expected arrival is around 8 pm, but we can optionally do it earlier if you are not interested in some locations and want to skip them.
