Upon finishing the visit of Travnik, the visit to the royal city of Jajce is on the way!

It is the birthplace of communist Yugoslavia. Jajce offers beautiful places to see and visit, but one of the most engaging ones is the waterfall “Jajce” and the gorgeous castle that is proudly watching over the city from above. It dates all the way back to the old Kingdom of Bosnia.

After the visit to Jajce, we’ll be on a pretty short ride (for about 20 minutes) to one of the most magnificent lakes in Bosnia & Herzegovina, and that is lake Plivsko. But that’s not all the fun, there are ‘’Mlinčići’’ right next to it which are almost 400 years old. Here we organize for lunch, and after we’re heading back to Sarajevo with lots of impressions and happy memories.

After visiting the museum, we head towards the Jajce fortress, one of the most beautiful in the region, the place where the Bosnian kings dined. On the hill above the town and waterfall is the Jajce fortress. During the period of the Kingdoms in Bosnia, the fortress was ruled by Hrvoje Vukćić Hrvatinić. In the 15th century, it fell into the hands of the Ottomans who conquered this region and the city itself, and almost until the middle of the 19th century, Jajce was governed by Ottoman vassals.

Pliva Lake and Mlinčići

On our way from Jajce, we head towards the last location of this beautiful and enchanting tour, our next stop is Mlinčići, one of the symbols of Jajce that are more than 400 years old, currently there are 20 of them, while in some historical sources state that there used to be 26, in the Medieval period were owned by rich landowners who collected taxes for the use of their mills, Mlinčići is an essential location during a visit to Jajce and the Pliva lake.
